NEW AUCTION: Thiel CS 1.5 speakers!

Posted by Bill Leebens on February 7, 2005 at 06:16:52:

Hi, All!

Thanks to the generosity of Jim Thiel, Kathy Gornik and the Thiel Audio Family, we are able to offer a BEAUTIFUL Walnut pair of Thiel CS 1.5 loudspeakers, as part of the Audio Asylum Asian Tsunami Victim Support Auction.

The CS 1.5 offers full-range performance from a surprisingly compact enclosure. Utilizing custom-designed drivers built in-house, this two-way system offers the clarity and neutrality for which Thiel speakers are famous.

Thiel's Coherent Source technologies, incorporating first-order crossover networks, sloped front baffles, and many other details, allow the accurate reproduction of a time- and phase-coherent signal, convincingly recreating the original musical event.

Although a discontinued model, these CS 1.5s come with Thiel's full 10-year warranty, and still offer the stunning performance that made them CES Innovations Design & Engineering award-winners, Stereophile Class "B" Recommended Components, and the subject of an overwhelmingly-positive review by Sam Tellig, in which he called them "A landmark speaker...you can get the resolution, detail and harmonic accuracy of $5,000-$10,000 speakers...an astonishing speaker." (Link to full Stereophile review is on the Thiel website.)

As a final bonus: these speakers will be autographed by designer Jim Thiel!

The Thiel crew have chosen Mercy Corps as the recipients of the proceeds. These glorious speakers can be yours, if you're the high bidder. PLEASE participate in this auction--a GREAT product and a GREAT cause!

Ole Lund Christensen and Bill Leebens, organizers.
