I have found some higher tension spring loaded Kelvin clips that I am happier with than the brass shim stock:

I'm going to superglue the bottom of these to a small rectangle of plexiglass, drill two holes in the plexiglass and screw the clips to a scrap piece of 2x4.
In this way, the clips will be fixed (=repeatable measurements),they will have good grip tension, and I can change their orientation pretty easily by relocating the screws on the 2x4.
Of course I'm anal. This is the Tweaks/DIY forum!
