If the other 12% is zinc, then we are talking about a BRASS connector. According to the Vampire web site: "Uniquely designed with a Copper Base body and direct gold plated."
What does that mean? I take it to mean that the base metal of the conductor is copper and the remaining is probably zinc meaning BRASS.
