I have been an audiophile for over 20 years. I have heard many, many different spkrs over the years. And I can easily conclude that the 1.6 Maggies are by far the best speaker for $1500 anywhere. I have listened to spkrs in the 5-$8000 range with sound inferior to that of these Maggies. These spkrs are velvetly smooth, coherent, refined, and have a effortless quality to them. Some will say the bass is a weakness. I have to disagree and say they are a strength! The bass may not be extremely low but it is tight, quick, and avoids that awful boominess found in box spkrs. Voices and piano (a true test of any spkr), are life like. Imaging where upon closing your eyes can picture where each instrument/singer is located.
Simply a fantastic speaker.
