Hi, the Alpha 3 is a better cable but not for any gear. The G-14 is much more universal with regards to 'synergy' despite it being not as sonically open or transparent as the Alpha in direct comparison. With small amps like the L1 etc.. the Alpha 3 could have a negative effect.
The Alpha 3 has a wow effect in the beginning but in extended listening I much preferred the 3TS762 being more sonically balanced despite the better transparency and resolution of the Alpha.
I also tried the REF III Power Cord which is basically an Alpha 3 with the noise reduction box. Overall I prefer the Evolution II Power Cable over the Ref III.
I think it's still a matter of synergy in the end. I've heard the Alpha 3 in some set-ups with good results.
