You covered many aspects well. It would have been interesting to know more about the assembly and setup, although I realize Lloyd and Fred did the work.

As a Rockport owner, I couldn't help notice some references to it, although it seems you haven't had the chance to listen to one. One of your comments begs clarification:

I asked about vacuum hold down and Walker cringed. Essentially he said that vacuum pumps are noisy creatures, placing unwanted high frequency vibrations from vacuum seal leaks at the worst possible location - the record / stylus interface.

Rockport uses a high quality Gast combination compressor/vacuum pump. While the unit in its acoustically lined enclosure is a bit noisy if placed near the listening room, the air lines are sufficiently long that this concern is moot. I haven't noticed any high frequency aberrations described by Walker.

In any event, you certainly must be enjoying your records a lot more than before, and this is a very good thing! Congratulations on a satisfying purchase.
