Same experience with power supplies. In my case I was forced to replace a failed PS capacitor in an amplifier and ended up with a slightly larger value. Sound was significantly improved over new, and at all volumes, not just loud. (Or maybe the improvement came from the duct tape holding the larger cans in place??)
With digital audio, clocks are also important. With LP, the turntable rules. And of course, the power supply to the clocks and the TT.
Without both energy and time, how can there be music?
