I enjoyed these very much in a listening session this last spring also... I'd place them in the running with other similar priced speakers. Be forewarned, these are more in the Vandersteen camp and not the Theil/Focal camp. In other words, the image width and depth and detail are very recording and room dependent (more like an Onmi). That said, some great SACD Guitar I have placed the performer right there... a little more forward than the Vandy 2c's
I also like the big line source Mc Speakers. But more because they can aid handing ceiling and floor reflections, and incredible dynamics - Noticeable difference between XRT1K and XR200 on a drum kit... But this is also where an XR200 surpasses (IMO) a Vandy 2Ce
Bottom is really nice with either speaker. Audiophile definition, no bloom.
