You might try putting the speakers on a small plate to avoid scratching the floor. This custom cut plate could be made of marble, patio stones, corian, medium density fiberboard (mdf), or even wood.
I'm using Corian and do appreciate the slight elevation that it gives the speakers. The plate give the speakers a marked location, which is useful after finding the ideal location for sound imaging. Enjoy the speakers!
