I recently got scammed by AudioMagus. I ordered a Trends TA10 amplifier from Audiomagus on Feb 19, 2009. They immediately charged my credit card. I did not receive the amplifier until May 1st. When I got it, it was obviously used, probably returned by someone else, and it was broken. It did not have the original box (or any box at all), one of the feet was missing, the amp had been in a dirty sleeve of bubble wrap with all the bubbles popped, but fell out of that during shipping, and was covered in little pieces of glitter. The amp itself had one channel that not only didn't produce any sound, but had a DC offset that caused my speakers to deflect outward by 1cm and stay there. I hope they haven't been damaged.
I contacted them immediately, they said they'd send a replacement that week. I asked if I should send the amplifier back, and they said not yet, they'd send me a return shipping label with the replacement. So I waited a few weeks, still no amplifier. Then I contacted them again, they said they'd had problems getting them in, but that it was a warehouse issue and he didn't know the details. He said they'd send it out as soon as they get it in. Then after a few more weeks, still no amplifier, I contacted them again, and they said they would send one out that day. Well, it's been a week and a half, still no amplifier.
Now they are not returning my E-mails, and they do not pick up their phone (I've called 4 times a day this whole week, so I would have caught them if they had just stepped out).
So, today I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. Just in time too, because it turns out you only have 90 days to dispute the charge, and I'm just under the wire. Some credit cards actually only give you 60 days it turns out. So apparently that's why Audiomagus kept stalling. Also, they warned me that because I hadn't send it back, I might lose the dispute. But they told me not to send it back yet! Just part of their scam it seems. So I'm going to ship it back at my own expense, and you'd better believe I will use a trackable shipping method.
This experience has just been ridiculous. Audiomagus might have been an okay place to order from once upon a time, but my experience has been terrible, and I would rank them an simply a scam outfit now.
