I actually grew up in a house a few hundred yards up the hill with an even larger view. It used to me a middle class, affordable, area. My parents bought their house for $71k in 1971. We sold it in early 2007 for a million. Prices have dropped back down to ~$650k-680k since then. Cliffside like where I rent still commands $1 million and up.

My view my be million dollar, but my living quarters clearly are not.
