I feel the same way about my dogs

'This (is) 19-year-old (Schoep) being cradled in his father's arms last night in Lake Superior. (Schoep) falls asleep every night when he is carried into the lake. The buoyancy of the water soothes his arthritic bones. Lake Superior is very warm right now, so the temp of the water is perfect. I was so happy I got to capture this moment for John. By the way, John rescued Shep as an 8 month old puppy, and he's been by his side through many adventures :).

My older dog is wracked with arthritis, she can only walk 10-30 feet at a time before having to lie down. I have to carry here up and down two flights of stairs everytime she goes out, but is worth the inconvenience.

Now, I have a fold-up cart for her to ride in while I walk my other dog. She absolutely loves going along and spends all her time woo-wooing to everyone she passes. It's amazing how much seeing this puts a smile on other people's faces. I would say at least 20 people a walk ask to pet her and take pictures.
