I have one, bought it new from J&R for under $400...it had just been trashed in a Stereophile review. I think that you mean it does not output progressive scan don't you? It does have component video outputs.

I had never used mine for anything but movies and a very few Dvd-audio disc's until about three weeks ago, at that time I had just sold my Sony XA777es to help finance a pair of speakers and needed to use the Dvd A-10 as a cd player.

Well, I hooked the digital out into my Sunfire theatergrand II, this was the first time I had used it as a Dac also.

I was very suprised at how good this setup sounded, I don't know if the Sunfire is just " THAT GOOD " or if I just got lucky with the right combo ( I also sold my Bent TVC to help finance the new speakers) I will replace this setup when finance's permit with another good Sacd player, but until then I'll be more than happy with this arangement.
