Thanks for the comments. The VS55 is a good tube amp. Nicely quick, rich and dynamic, above all it lets you enjoy the musical presentation. Less 3d and detailed than the Classic 60 (which was made 15 years ago), but the top end of the VS 55 is smoother (with the SED tubes) while still maintaining decent extension. The bass is strong, so this should be a consideration. A good pair of minimonitors and cables that are not warm themselves mates well with it. From now on I will always have a tube amp in the system or in the closet.
