He should have also replaced the bridge rectifiers with Ixys Freds, and the electrolytic caps on the boards with Black Gates. Jon was really happy with the sound of the Forte amps after these mods. Have not heard one myself, but Jon knows what he is talking about, so I am sure it is an awesome mod. A Coda Window, with mods, may be a better sounding preamp for you. Threshold was never great at preamps for some reason.
