I have the KA-127 Integrated Amp which was my first "real" component stereo. They clip relatively easy when pushed. For comparison I have a Kenwood Basic M2 amp and that has big time headroom and I had it playing on my Klipsch RF7's and had the volume knob at 1 o clock and it wasn't clipping and was putting out 240 WPCV RMS according to the meters which I had calibrated to spec. Kenwood made some great stuff pre 1991. The KA-87 is circa 1988. The M2 is circa 1982 along with the Basic C1 preamp I use with it. Enjoy your KA-87 it is a decent piece.
