Here is a guy who was Attorney General of NY before becoming Governor and focused his entire career on aggressively routing out corruption. He had a reputation of being merciless and often unfair to the targets of his investigations and prosecutions.

Then his administration faced one scandal after the next.

And now this.

I agree with you entirely. But I don't think you need worry about his getting away with this. He has no friends left, so he's going to fall hard.
