I find the whole album tiresome. It sounds to me like something they did in a hurry because they had a contract obligation. I don't like it. I value your opinion but I disagree with it.

I do think Johnny Winter did a good version of "Silver Train" on his STILL ALIVE AND WELL album. I prefer it to the Stones version, which is something I don't say very often because I feel that the Stones are one of the all-time great groups and few can even come close to their greatness. That said, I find GOATS HEAD SOUP a total misfire and almost as bad as the abysmal MADE IN THE SHADE, which isn't on my list because I don't own it.

I don't think GOATS HEAD is one of the worst albums of all time but it's certainly the worst and most disappointing Stones album in my collection.
Even bad Stones is better than many groups can muster.
