i suppose if you could find an eddy current motor and air bearing with compressor and a servo speed controller laying in a dumpster that a very talented motivated individual might have a good start.

you would still need active isolation and vaccuum hold down.....but maybe one might find that in the dumpster too.

and then you would need......

well.....i suppose it depends on how you define 'class'.
