Until you get an actual definitive response --- since I can't offer one --- I think I remember something, somewhere, about...
All rega motors being 50 hz ones that are used with a a different pulley to produce the same (33.3) rotation on a 60 hz mains ( as in US ).
Or was it that they change the phasing capacitors to ... I don't know, but I don't think you are in the minority.
DO look around in our archives to figure this out until someone can give solid confirmation.... pretty sure you'll find info ..
