PowerVar is the way to go.

I really like the EEE piece, and in the solid state mode. It is on my short list of items I would like to buy.

Don't buy a surge and line conditioner when you can buy a torroidal isolation transformer used for such a decent price. 10Amp and 12Amp units are good for most systems.

I rarely have hum other than what I hear on my digital recordings and its very low in the background.
