RE: Turntable repair in SF Bay Area?

Posted by Raiderman on May 6, 2012 at 07:32:54:

Okay, for turntable repair and maintenance, I highly recommend Brian Hartsell at The Analog Room in San Jose. Brian has forgotten more about turntables than the rest of us will probably ever hope to know. (If nothing else a trip down to his store is a treat for anyone into turntables.) He is my first choice.

(FYI, the store is immediately next to the Subway located at the intersection of Meridian and Fruitdale. It is in a small building that has no signs out in front.)

My second choice would be True Sound in Campbell. Nick Gowan is a great repair person for anything tube related, but he should be able to do the simple repair and maintenance on your turntable.

However, with that being said, I agree with Jedrider that you can probably replace the belt yourself, (I found a replacement at the first online place I looked actually). And as far as cleanup, that is fairly intuitive and simple, (just go slow and don't break anything).

My two cents worth anyway.
Good Luck!
