AKAI AA-6000

Posted by Hodgie on July 2, 2012 at 03:09:11:

Hi all, I'm trying to find some info on an AKAI AA-6000 amp/pre-amp, but I'm drawing a blank. It's a big heavy duty unit, seems well built and reported power at 120w, but I would still like some verification as to whether it is a quality unit or not.
The lack of info on the web concerns me - either the model was initially a dud commercially so they only made a handful, or it was a dud quality-wise and so few have survived. This one appears to be 30 yrs plus, so it has survived that long - still to be tested though.
Any clues?
