hifi tuning fuse

Posted by Ishmael on July 31, 2012 at 11:40:35:

I just received a large SB hifi supreme tuning fuse. It was offered in small and large sizes. My amp takes a large 8A size. I discovered, on having the fuse in hand, and comparing it with the fuse currently in my Mactone amp, that the hifi tuning fuse is about 2mm longer. I measured the fuse I have before I made the order, and it appeared to be about 31mm, which I just attributed to a not so accurate measurement, but close enough.

If there are fuses in components that are not quite the same as the 20mm (small), or 32mm (large), why are only these two sizes made available?
