I hate commenting on stuff that I have not actually listened to in the recent past. that said as you have a time issue here are some generalizations on the tuners you listed.

a). Proton has a terrible reputation regarding reliability. The one Proton product I did own (the Clock Radio)was a nightmare finally ending up in the trash. Too bad, as when it worked both the sound quality and FM sensitivity were superior.

b). The "T" series of Sanyo higher end products seem to be almost universally well regarded. There may be an availability issue with some proprietary IC's they used in the event you need a repair. I did listen to the tuner, amp and preamp at length years ago and remember liking them in comparison to the comparable Yamaha models of that time period (T1, C2 and B2).

As to the Arcam I don't have a clue. Good Luck and have fun with your choice.
