Which NOS EL84 for audio amplifier?

Posted by greg7 on March 21, 2012 at 19:01:56:

I'm considering GE, RCA (smoked glass and black plates), RFT, Siemens and Tungsram. All of these are similar in price. I'm staying away from Mullard, Amperex, etc. (too pricey).

Between the ones I listed, in your experience which did you prefer? I'm wanting warmth and tone rather than analytical (as long as I don't lose that lovely EL84 quickness and fluidity). The stock tubes are EH and those are too analytical.
