I prefer them over most of the other 6922/6DJ8 family tubes when used in a pre amp becuase being russian military they are very quiet. Some might find them a little dry, but IME i dont find them to be analitical. A JAN 6922 or 7308 might have a little more caracter/fullness, ect, but i find 6922's & most 6DJ8 to have too much noise in a pre amp(YMMV). FWIW i have'nt tried my JAN 7308's in my pre yet.
