Early 1960's Siemens & Halske 6922.-- Try and find them. I have a pair (1963)and they are the best tube of this family. No other tube is even close. Transparent, liquid, alive- a classic tube. It goes down hill rapidly from here. I have heard just about all 6922/6dj8/7308 FWIW.

The good news is that just about any decent 6dj8 will be extremely musical as compared to other 6922. Even the early Sylvania 6dj8.

The most musical 6dj8 tubes were made by Amperex. 3 types are very good. White Label, Bugle Boy and Orange Globe . 1958-1970- after that they are not worth a grain of salt.
