The "best" sound in a rectifier would be a Cree Schottky or something in Mercury Vapor. Use what you think is cool and fits with the design of the amp. Dampers are cool because you need more of them. Chinese 274B looks cool because it is nostalgic.

I would not sweat it, you ain't gonna win any absolute best amp in the world awards with PP EL34 even with real NOS Western Electric 274A engraved base rectifiers. It doesn't work that way.
