Between 50 and 1500 cycles the Altec 414 and 515 are outstanding, I assume the new GPA versions of the drivers are as well. The old Altec 406-8C was a 10" based on the 414 motor and with a dual profile cone that ran out to 2000hz and had the " Glorious Technicolor" mid-bass qualities of the larger Altecs.
