I used to drive my Audience 70s with a MF X-A1. Had no problems whatsoever. I personally find the 60 to sound more refined than the 70, but the latter had better bass. So, I do not think you will face problems driving any speaker in the Audience line (except perhaps the 80) with a 50wpc amp like the X-A1. If you are willing to wait, check out the new X-A2, which is 75wpc.
The Contours do indeed sound much more refined; that's the word I always use when describing the Contours.
