Which SVS sub ... box or cylinder

I've got an older 2039PCI that I'm going to replace. I was looking at either the PC or PB Plus. Which has better performance between the two (I don't care about the looks). I noticed the PB has a parametric eq ... does anyone find that to be an advantage (the PC doesn't have it).
