types of wool
Posted by Croc on February 3, 2009 at 11:52:34:
Hi,
my room is treated with FRK corner traps all around.
60 Hz is still should be tamed - it's 15-20 DB louder than 55 and 65.
all other frequencies are OK (incl 90 and 120).
i'm thinkin to implement Ethan's advise and covers also all ceiling/wall corners.
i found a source for acrylic wool which has NRC of 0.85 (0.45 at 125 hz and 0.49 at 250 hz) - which i guess is quite good, isn't it?
what puzzles me they say that according to their measurement it's equivalent to rockwool at dencity 4.5pcf and to fiberglass wool at dencity 1.5 pcf.
so are those 2 types of wool really behaves so much differently?
Thanks,
Gennady
