How I came to my conclusions was by checking the statis of ASIO4all. When I have music playing through Foobar, the ASIO4all shows beyond logic for the given port. It also shows the port being used by the USB DAC 2x32-48Hz.. No other PC audio comes through the DAC. There's an option in the sound device menu that gives exclusive control to the USB DAC.
Only if you use the onboard soundcard are you going through the mixer.
