My MG12 are rattling!

Posted by samoore on June 4, 2000 at 12:24:16:

I just received my MG12s a few days ago. I finally had a chance to sit down and do some critical listening last night. Well, long story short, one of the panels is rattling with high volume bass. I know they are not bottoming out, becuase I have heard that before, this is definitely a loose part rattling. If I get behind the panel and push on the magnet board with my finger the rattle stops. So, I think that the magnets may be loose. I would attempt to fix it myself, but I would have to remove the cloth, thus voiding the warranty.
Is this a common problem? I assume that Magnepan will fix it under the warranty, but I am reluctant to send them back. Has anyone else had to send thier maggies back for repairs? How quickly were they returned? Any insight into this problem would help ease my mind. Thanks.

Steve
