RE: Speaker "break-in" data

Posted by Roger Gustavsson on March 20, 2012 at 00:41:25:

Break-in should not be forced by running the speakers all the time. It is often better to just play them normally, preferably with different kind of loads of music and in-betweeen let them rest. This will let the glue harden slowly and the Mylar get elastic. In my experience, the process need to be repeated to some degree after longer periods without playing, like a break for holiday. As I wanted to listen to a pair of MG 20.1, the demonstrater told me they never do that without running them for some hours in advance. My own MG 3.6 goes a bit lower than the 3.7 shown here.
