GOOD NEWS FROM SONY

Posted by jwitzsch on January 3, 2005 at 08:34:23:

Hi all
this is amazing! Sony is taking over costs for material!!!!
I contacted Sony customer service again, faxed them the cost estimate for the repair, a copy from the original bill and a letter, asking them, whether we could "share costs" (in German called Materialkulanz, material obligingness). Only 8 hours later a friendly lady called me back and told me, that Sony Germany will take over the cost for the Laser and the transport (ie. all material needed for the repair). I only would have to pay for the work and the postage.
I just wanted to share that experience with you - I think it is worth mentioning Sony's reaction and will to get a good solution to the problem.
