Absolute Statement

I wanted to post an objective response to Dalton. However his post did have a rather absolute and sweeping tone to it in stating that SACD's advantages were "not all that great" and that it was a "miniscule improvement."

I thought it would have been nicer if he had qualified that it was his own perception, and not something universally applicable. So I could not restrain myself from stating that for him. Naughty of me, I know!

I agree with Dalton about the "CD layer sounded more dynamic and crisp than the SACD layer" if you hear it in that way. My take is that the dynamism and crispness comes from the aural tension due to digital hardness though.
