I stopped listening to music so analytically for the same reasons, plus I stopped looking for and playing around with prissy "audiophile" speakers, and stuck with speakers and amps/receivers/source players and went with stuff thats good for Heavy music.

I stopped really caring abbaout vinyl, since if you want accurate sound you stay away from vinyl, since vinyl is farther from accuracy than digital... I still want a new turntable, but not for a minut will I pretend that vinl is the be all and end all of hifi...
