It was SACD that showed me how much music was there that I never could hear before. After improving my system to get more and more of the music indeed Redbook sounded much better too.
However it's still my experience that SACD is more musical than Redbook. The best of Redbook seems like SACD but more ghostly, less present, less there...
Never mind that SACD also delivers MC audio which in and of itself can make the music much more involving.
I suspect the differences in our experience can be traced to systems that were optimized for Redbook being used for SACD A/Bing short term, vs. systems that were optimized for SACD being used for short term CD comparisons...
