The cheapies work fine for me and my Quads certainly don't mind. Some of my interconnects came with the equipment, some I bought for a few dollars at Radio Shack or Walmart, etc. I don't always know which are which, and some must be pretty old.
What is the matter with your current interconnect? What makes you think other interconnects will sound significantly different, that is, some difference someone can hear?
