It is you who is wrong, here is how you change your DVD player to output unprotected 2 channel 96kHz PCM.

It's easy go to the menu and turn the "Downsampling" Off. The reason it it exists and set ON by default is many D/A converters do not operate higher than 48kHz. But if you have a D/A converter that operates at higher frequencies 96kHz, 192kHz turn the "Downsampling" off and your player will output the 24 Bit 96kHz and signals from all DVD-Video music discs. Most DVD-Audio discs are copy protected so they will output nothing.

To recap all DVD-Video players made in the last 10 years or so will output 2 channel PCM at full resolution PCM if you tell your player to do so. I have read any of your manuals?

Also you couldn't give me a portable CD player for free, I would refuse! I do believe there are portable DVD-Audio players with bulit in TV Screens.

Hope this helps,
Teresa
