Unfortunately, I don't have a 5.1 speaker setup...

...in fact, I have only 2-channel stereo for my speaker setup. And as a general rule, 5.1-channel devices used with only 2-channel speaker setups either do a very poor job of downmixing 5.1 to stereo or cannot downmix at all. Finally, although the BIA DualDisc has a 2-channel stereo mix on the DVD side, that 2-channel stereo mix is only at 48kHz/24-bit (versus 96kHz/24-bit for the 5.1 surround-sound mix).
