Re: My Sony SCD777's transport is making a ticking noise

Hi Rick: I've had a Sony SCD-777ES for 6 Months & have used it approx 3 Hrs a day with no problem. On the contrary it sounds better now than when I boughtit. The units in question seem to be used with devices that change the voltage and/or frequency from the standard 120v/60hz that this player was designed to operate on. Use such devices at your own risk! It is my belief that such devices shorten the life span of the equipment that was designed for standard household voltage/frequency. A good line conditioner that maintains clean 120v/60hz power with surge protection should be all that's necessary to properly power a high end audio system. Regards, HiFi Guy.
