Bob Reina has been working on a review for some months, but had to get
his quota on inexpensive speakers finished first. He offers some
follow-up thoughts on the ARC Reference 3 preamp in the June issue and
his power amp review will appear in July.

Regarding your need to drive it from a single-ended preamp, all you
need do is connect pin 3 of the XLR jack to ground and drive pin 2.
You will only get half the gain and the noise floor will be 6dB higher
than in balanced mode, but it will work.
