IME, replacing a typical captive power cord's molded AC plug with a Furutech FI-11 series AC plug (or just about any Audio grade AC plug) is a worthy thing to do, since it will provide a substantial improvement in performance. However, an audiophile quality power cord upgrade (that includes an Audio Grade AC plug) is often a sonically superior option if the new cable can be hardwired in a secure and safe manner. If one is interested in future upgrades and/or various detachable power cord auditions, the versitile and often prefered method is to remove the stock power cord and install an IEC inlet, or install an inline IEC jack placed a few inches from the captive power cord's chassis entry point.
