I guess it wouldn't hurt to try tight coupling as opposed to decoupling.
The proof of the pudding...etc. I'm still apt to think, at this stage, that keeping the sub boxes off the rear baffle plate is a better idea than tight coupling or just sitting them there. The latter would be a good option for storage or space saving but that's about it.
I still think total seperation of subs from baffles during operation would yield the best imaging.
