I have not heard the Bel Cantos in my home so I have no direct comparison.

The difference in circuitry is that the Spectron has Everything in the feed-back loop (including the speaker if you buy the cable). And the loop is the fastest in the business. The BelCanto doesn't include the low-pass filter in the loops so the highs might indeed suffer. (Seems to be the case based on some reviews.) But, best is to hear one for yourself and see if it does it for ya.
