First one of my youth or first one when I understood that vinyl was actually decent?

First of my youth, probably played with a great deal more VTF then necessary, was a Dual 1225 or 1229 I bought used from my parents' stereo dealer. Think I got it thrown in for $100 when my parents were buying a Nakamichi tape deck in the very early 1980s.

First of my own after my "a-Ha! moment": Micro Seiki SX8000 which happened to come across a local internet auction in the depths of the early noughties Japanese economic malaise. Got the whole set up (arm, isolation base, used Denon cart) for more than I had budgeted on a table but far less than they usually went for, so I splurged. Hooked from then on...
