Well - I found a Nagaoka MP-30 at a really good price so I jumped on it. I've always been curious about these cartridges as they don't seem to exhibit the "flavor of the month" modern sound and seem, from the limited information I can find on them, to have a more classic tone to them.
It's way to early for a full in depth review in regards to the sound in my system, but suffice it to say I'm immediately drawn to the music this cartridge makes.
So far, in comparison to my AT-150MLx, it's got a more neutral top end and the bass is a bit rounder, for lack of a better term. The midrange is gorgeous - vocals have a very very nice tone to them. I think the AT-150MLx could be classified as a bit more "detailed" but I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Yet... :-)
Tracking is superb - at least as good as the AT-150MLx and I'm inclined to say it's even a bit better. Again, I've only got a few hours on it - so time will tell.
Anyhow - I'll post more as I do more extensive listening this weekend, but so far so good - I'm really enjoying it!
